Dozier makes I-AA 2nd team

James Dozier of Morgan State was named yesterday to the Associated Press Division I-AA All-America second team. Dozier, 6-foot-3, 240-pound senior defensive end from Randallstown, previously was selected to the All-MEAC first team and was picked as MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. The teams:

2 Punter -- Pumpy Tudors, Tennessee-Chattanooga.

THIRD TEAM Offense

Quarterback -- Dave Goodwin, Colgate.

Running backs -- Derrick Franklin, Indiana State; Robert Green, William & Mary.

Wide receivers -- Mike Trevathan, Montana; Mark Didio, Connecticut.

4 Tight end -- Craig Thompson, North Carolina A&T.

Linemen -- Anthony Giudice, Massachusetts; Keith Hatcher, Liberty; Chris Reed, Southwest Missouri State; Carl Satterly, Eastern Kentucky; Steve McAdoo, Middle Tennessee State.

Return specialist -- Charles Swann, Indiana State.

9- Place-kicker -- Dennis Durkin, Dartmouth.

Defense

Linemen -- Gary Willingham, Howard; Steve Bussoletti, Georgia Southern; Chris Gale, Jackson State; Mike Davis, North Texas.

Linebackers -- Kelly Blount, Eastern Kentucky; Rico Mack, Appalachian State; David Woulard, Mississippi Valley State.

Backs -- Kevin Smith, Rhode Island; Darrell Beavers, Morehead State; Bernard Ellison, Nevada; Rodney Oglesby, Georgia Southern.

Punter -- Paul Alsbury, Southwest Texas State.
