City Still Seeks Manager

December 19, 1990

WESTMINSTER - Interviews are progressing, but a city manager will not be chosen until the Jan. 14 council meeting, Councilman Edward S. Calwell said Monday night.

"We had hoped to appoint one by the end of the year, but I think that was rather ambitious," he said, adding that the personnel committee had narrowed the field from 69 to three candidates in a month and a half.

The final three applicants -- chosen from 10 candidates the committee called in for interviews -- will be questioned by the full council after Christmas, Calwell said.

All applicants' names are being kept confidential since their current employers may not know the candidates have applied for the job, he said.
