Renovation Is Debated

December 19, 1990

TANEYTOWN - The Taneytown City Council is considering a special meeting this week to decide if restaurant owner Harry Sirinakis should install sprinklers or an automatic alarm in the old Golden Glove Twin Kiss restaurant.

The council voted 3-2 last week to compel Sirinakis to install a sprinkler system when he remodels his restaurant, which is set to reopen as a second Harry's Lunch.

Manager Neal W. Powell said that city ordinances allows the council to choose between sprinkler systems or the less-expensive automatic alarm system.

Sirinakis said he was surprised and concerned about the council's decision and he hoped that it would reconsider.
