Baltimore City

ROBBERY TRY: Northeastern District -- Michelle Bowen, of the 3600 block of Raymonn Ave., reported that she was walking near her home early yesterday when she was assaulted by a man who attempted to steal her purse after knocking her to the pavement. Police said Bowen struggled with the man, forcing him to let go of the purse and flee.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that Aubrey Myers, of the 2000 block of Odell Ave. at the Hollander Ridge Apartments, was in the men's room at Hardee's restaurant in the 5000 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday afternoon when a man armed with a handgun entered and demanded his money. Police said Myers gave up more than $100 to the gunman, who fled the scene on foot.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of B & B Motors in the 600 block of E. 25th St. reported that someone entered onto their property and removed two sets of spark plug wiring. Police said the equipment was valued at $50.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to the Ames department store in the 2500 block of Belair Road yesterday arrested a man who attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at nearly $78. Police said the 41-year-old man, who was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending charges and a bail hearing, attempted to leave the store with batteries and containers of aspirin.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Donna Kuhbert, of the 3500 block of Brendan Ave., reported that while her car was parked in the 3500 block of Juneway someone broke into the vehicle and released the trunk lock from inside. From the trunk, police said the thief removed a tape recorder, toys, a clock radio and other items. Police said the property was valued at nearly $100.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 14-year-old girl and charged her as a juvenile with attempting to steal items valued at less than $10 from a display shelf at the 7-Eleven store in the 6000 block of Harford Road. After charges, the girl was released into the custody of her parents.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Hazelwood Mini Market in the 4700 block of Hazelwood Ave. reported that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered their store yesterday and removed money from the cash register after telling a clerk to stand back out of the way. Police said the gunman and his accomplice escaped with about $40.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 27-year-old women and were holding her at the women's detention center pending charges that she shoplifted more than $100 worth of clothing from a display shelf at the G.C. Murphy department store in the 3900 block of Erdman Ave. Police said the woman was stopped by a store security officer.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police were holding a 19-year-old man at the Eastern District lockup after his arrest yesterday when he tried to leave the Ames department store in the 2500 block of Belair Road without paying for four pairs of boxer-type shorts. Police said the clothing, valued at nearly $30, was recovered when the man was arrested.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a man who attempted to leave the Rite Aid pharmacy in the 3400 block of Erdman Ave. yesterday without paying for $20 worth of cough medicine was arrested when stopped by a store security officer. Police said the man was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY TRY: Northeastern District -- Linette Marshall, of the 5000 block of Denview Way, reported that she was in the 5600 block of Sinclair Lane last night when she was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who pressed the weapon to her head and demanded her money. Police said the gunman fled the scene when Marshall dropped to her knees and began screaming for help.

RAPE: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and remanded him to the Hickey School in Cub Hill after charging him as a juvenile with raping a 12-year-old girl several times over the past few months.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Gracie Manning, of the 1500 block of Shields Place, reported that she was in the 1600 block of Argyle Ave. last night when two men approached her from the rear and stole her purse. Police said the men fled with cash and property, all valued at more than $200.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Employees of Orlander & Shapiro, a business firm with offices in the first block of S. Charles St., reported that someone entered an office over the weekend and removed computer equipment valued at nearly $4,000.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Mary MacCartney, of the first block Dowling Circle at the Pelham Woods Apartments in Baltimore County, reported that she was walking in the first block of E. 22nd St. yesterday afternoon when two men approached her from behind and stole her purse. Police said the men escaped on foot and that the purse contained cash and property, all valued at more than $100.
