Elmer A. "Wally" Wallace, a Baltimore native and a pioneer in the telescope-picture business on the boardwalk at Ocean City, died Dec. 8 at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center after several heart attacks.
Mr. Wallace, who was 80 and lived on Southerly Road in Towson, retired about 10 years ago from Royaltone Studios, which he founded 30 years earlier. The company specialized in taking slide photographs that are viewed through tiny telescopes.
Also, he once owned the Shertle Galleries located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and on the boardwalk in Ocean City. The galleries sold paintings and offered pastel portraits.
