CURRENT volunteers' news and needs:

Salvation Army wants volunteers age 55 and over to work one-on-one with homeless children who are living in The Booth House, a Salvation Army emergency shelter. Call Ruth Ramsey, 685-8878.

Save-A-Heart volunteers are holding a dinner and show at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Danielle's Bluecrest in Pikesville. For details and reservations, call 653-3131.

Good Samaritan Hospital wants volunteers for its new gift shop. Morning, afternoon and evenings are available. Call 532-3870.

Jewish Vocational Service Volunteer Clearing House wants volunteers to help resettle Soviet emigres. Tutors, drivers and host families are needed. Russian is not required. Call Eunice Friedman, 466-9200, Ext. 199.

Pets on Wheels wants pet owners who will volunteer to take their pets to visit nursing home residents. The next pet observation class will be at 10 a.m. at the Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Church, Rt. 40 and Winans Way. Call 396-1762.
