Anguished by assessment? Call us

December 16, 1990

If you received a property reassessment notice last week and have something to say about it -- good or bad -- The Sun would like to hear from you.

The Sun is looking at the region's assessment increases in a year when the real estate market is struggling and plans to recount some of the stories of those whose homes were reassessed.

To tell your tale, call SUNDIAL from a touch-tone phone at any hour today or tomorrow. You don't need to identify yourself, but callers willing to be interviewed later by a reporter will be asked to leave their name and number.

Be ready to say what your current and previous assessments are, whether you think they are justified and why. Be specific and brief. Are houses in your neighborhood selling for prices consistent with your assessment? Are those houses comparable to yours? What sort of house doyou live in? How much land do you have around the house? Do you plan to appeal your assessment?

The call is a local call in the Baltimore area. If you want to participate in the survey, call 783-1800 and enter the access code 4650. If you live in Anne Arundel County, call 268-7736 and enter the access code 4650.
