Baseball Cleveland Indians -- Named Tony DeMacio national scouting supervisor. Announced the resignation of Gary Sherwood, director of ticket sales.

Pittsburgh Pirates -- Announced that free-agent first baseman Gary Redus (.247, 6 HRs, 23 RBI, 11 stolen bases) has accepted salary arbitration.

Oakland Athletics -- Agreed to terms with P Eric Show (6-8, 5.76 ERA with Padres last season) on a two-year contract. Released P Joe Law.

Seattle Mariners -- Acquired OF Dennis Hood (.247, 8 HRs, 36 RBI at Class AAA Richmond) from the Atlanta Braves for P Scott Taylor (8-8, 5.41 ERA at Class A San Bernardino).

Rapid City Thrillers (CBA) -- Named Jim Calvin coach.

Sacramento Kings -- Waived F Ricky Calloway. Activated F Anthony Bonner off the injured list.

Ohio State -- Suspended starting DE Alonzo Spellman and a redshirt player for disciplinary reasons and both will miss the Liberty Bowl.

Seton Hall -- Announced retirement of Sue Patton, men's and women's tennis coach.

Vanderbilt -- Announced F Morgan Wheat has quit the basketball team.

Dallas Cowboys -- Waived OT Louis Cheek. Activated DT Mitch Willis and DB Michael Brooks from the practice squad.
