MAN KILLED IN CAR AFTER HITTING TREE

A Severn man was killed Saturday when he lost control of his car, drove off the road and hit a tree, county police said.

Mark Edward Medley, 29, of the 1300 block Sleepy Hollow Road, was pronounced dead at North Arundel Hospital after the noon accident.

The police said Medley was driving a 1981 Ford Mustang south on New Cut Road near Tepper Road in Severn when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

GUNMAN ROBS WOMAN AT FESTIVAL

A Rockville woman was robbed Saturday in the parking lot of an Annapolis shopping center.

The police said the woman was walking to her car in the parking lot at the Festival Plaza shopping center on Jennifer Road at 6:15 p.m. when a man walked up to her, told her he had a gun and demanded money.

The woman gave him her purse and the robber told her to get in her car and lock the doors. The man ran into a wooded area.

The police described the robber as a white male about 5-foot-6, 185 pounds. He had black hair and a mustache.

GOLD STANDARD ROBBED BY PAIR

Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed the Gold Standard jewelry store in Annapolis Mall Thursday.

County police said the pair went into the store at about 7:20 p.m. and asked to see a diamond ring.

When the clerk took the ring from the case, the robber showed her his gun and demanded that she give him the ring.

The woman complied and the two men left the store.

No descriptions of the robbers were given.

GLEN BURNIE MALL IS ROBBERY SITE

A Brooklyn Park woman was robbed Wednesday outside Glen Burnie Mall, the police said.

The woman told officers that she was walking in the parking lot of the mall when someone walked up behind her and grabbed her causing her to drop her packages.

A struggle broke out and the man sexually assaulted the woman, the police said.

The man grabbed the purse and ran out of the parking lot. The police described the robber as a black male, 6 feet tall, and weighing 210 pounds.

He had a heavy build with a big nose. He was wearing a navy blue scarf over his mouth, a dark leather jacket, dark pants, heavy boats, and dark leather gloves.
