3 Aacc Players Earn Soccer Honors

Three Anne Arundel Community College soccer players recently were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America team.

Sandi Young (Andover) of Ferndale and Nikki Beall (Meade) of Laurel were named to the first team while Suzanne Price of Severna Park was named to the second team. All three also were named to the NJCAA National All-Tournament team, along with Megan McElhenny of Davidsonville.

Young, a fullback and captain of the team, tallied seven goals and four assists for the year. Beall attempted 38 shots while posting three goals and two assists. Suzanne Price scored five goals and recorded seven assists.

Both Young and Price also were named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American and Region XX teams.

Other 1990 All-Region team members include Andrea Farrell of Annapolis (two goals), Duffy Kelly of Lothian (nine goals, one assist), McElhenny (nine goals and four assists), and Sharon Roe of Davidsonville (six goals and three assists).

Honorable mention recipients were Roxanne Elsey of Annapolis, Barbara King of Pasadena and Crissy Sisk of Pasadena.

Kevin Wise (two goals and two assists) of Hanover and Ron Eckles (nine goals and eight assists) of Severna Park were nominated to the 1990 men's soccer All-Region and All-Maryland JuCo team, while teammates Jim Downing of Severn and Barry Conner of Millersville also received All-Conference honors.
