Bullets preview

December 06, 1990|By Milton Kent

* WHEN: Tonight, 10:30.

* WHERE: Arco Arena.

* OUTLOOK: Welcome to the NBA, where a game on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors gets you a game on Thursday night vs. the Sacramento Kings (2-13). This is living.

The Kings haven't come close to a winning season since they moved to Sacramento from Kansas City five years ago, and there's no reason to think that this year will be any different. There are hopeful signs, though. Forward Lionel Simmons is making a strong early bid for Rookie of the Year honors, and Travis Mays, another of five Sacramento rookies, is learning to play the point. Wayman Tisdale and Antoine Carr are inside forces.

Half of the Kings' victory total is courtesy of the Bullets, who lost an ugly 87-82 game at the Capital Centre on Nov. 20, when Bernard King scored 45 points and the Bullets had just nine points in the second quarter.
