Vaughan Receives Navy Service Award

Joseph S. Vaughan of Annapolis was recently given the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award for his work as assistant chief of staff for resources management, Training Command, U.S. Pacific Fleet, from April 1982 until February 1989.

The Navy recognized Vaughan's work not only for its positive impact on training throughout the Navy but also for significant monetary savings that resulted from using his ideas.

Vaughan is currently the assistant deputy for management at the Naval Academy. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern California and a master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
