Salisbury State Student Gets Full Scholarship

Colleen Loftus, 18, daughter of Edward and Charlotte Loftus of Severna Park, has received a four-year, renewable full-tuition scholarship from the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury State University.

A 1990 graduate of Severna Park High School, where she ranked in the top 5 percent of her class, Loftus is a freshman majoring in accounting at SSU.

Loftus received the county Merit Scholar Award for her superior academic performance in high school. She was a member of the executive and blood drive committees and was chairwoman of the Induction Committee for Severna Park High's National Honor Society.

She was also a member of the varsity cross country and track teams.

Loftus was voted Unsung Heroine of the outdoor track team for her consistent superior performance and her willingness to help her teammates.
