Services for Ella Parran Hance, a Calvert County native who had been a civilian employee of the U.S. Army, will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Prince Frederick.

Miss Hance, who was 64 and lived in Washington, died of cancer Sunday at Sibley Memorial Hospital there.

She retired in 1981 as a civilian information specialist at the Pentagon after working for the Army since the late 1940s. Earlier, she worked for the Bureau of the Mint.

Born in Prince Frederick, she was a graduate of Calvert County High School and of Fairfax Junior College in Waynesboro, Va. She later earned a bachelor's degree studying at night at Georgetown University.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Parran Hance of Prince Frederick; a brother, Young D. Hance of Prince Frederick; and three nieces.
