Paralegal Studies Program Honored

December 05, 1990

The Maryland State Department of Education honored the paralegal studies program at Anne Arundel Community College with a 1990 Distinguished Program award in presentation ceremonies recently at the BWI Marriott.

Instructor J. Lynne Wood, paralegal studies coordinator, nominated the program, which has tripled in size since it began in 1988. Of 38 paralegal program graduates, 16 are working paralegals, six are seeking paralegal positions, nine are continuing education and seven chose other fields.

Paralegal students gain an understanding of their role in the delivery of legal services and a basic overview of areas of law, including contracts, research, writing, criminal law and domestic relations.
