Congressman Gets Slade School Award

Representative Tom McMillen will be given the St. Julie Billiart Award by Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School at an hourlong champagne reception 6 p.m. next Wednesday. in the school's library.

The reception will honor the school's major benefactors and will be hosted by the Arthur Slade Development Office.

The area Democratic congressman will become the third recipient of the prestigious award. Usually bestowed on major financial supporters of the school, it is named after the founders of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the order of nuns that has staffed Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School since its opening in 1954.

The reception is by invitation only.
