A Severna Park man who police said fired shots at his girlfriend in an Annapolis hotel Sunday night has been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

Cleve Tyrone Maynard, 31, of Jones Station Road, was charged after he turned himself in to county police at the Southern District Station several hours after the shooting.

The police said Maynard was upset over a break-up with his girlfriend, Renee Annette Farley, 23, who lived in the hotel.

Police say Maynard went to the Annapolis Terrace Motel in the unit block of Revell Highway about 8:49 p.m. and fired several shots through the hotel window with a shotgun.

The pellets from the shots hit Farley and two other people in the room.

John D. Kollock, 23, of Philadelphia was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with wounds to his face and body. His condition was unavailable yesterday.

Farley was treated and released from Anne Arundel Medical Center. James Brian Harkum, 25, of the 100 block of Chestnut Road in Severna Park, also was treated and released.

Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed a Hanover bar Saturday, county police said.

At about 1:14 a.m., the manager of the House of Jose bar, in the 7500 block of Old Telegraph Road, went into the back office.

The police said two men followed him there. One brandished a gun and took money out of the safe.

Both robbers left the bar.

The manager of the bar could not provide the police with a description of the robbers.

An Edgewater man has been charged with distributing PCP to a man just hours before the man drowned.

Wiley Wilburn Tester III, 28, of the 1400 block of Hallie Street, was arrested after an off-duty police officer recognized him in Annapolis Mall Saturday, said county police Sgt. Thomas A. Suit.

Tester is charged with two counts of possession and distribution of PCP.

He was being held in the County Detention Center yesterday on a $7,500 bond.

Tester is accused of selling the drug to Ronald Wren, 22, of Davidsonville, during a party June 9. Tester drowned later that evening after jumping into Bear Neck Creek.

"There were rumors circulating that the death was not accidental," Suit said. "So I started to look into it."

Suit said that he did not uncover any evidence of foul play, but that the drug played a role in the drowning.

"The use of PCP definitely contributed to his death," Suit said, adding that Wren was under the drug's influence when he jumped into the water.

Police had been looking for Tester since his indictment two weeks ago.
