VS. NEW YORK ISLANDERS

* OUTLOOK: The Capitals upset the first-place Rangers, 6-3, at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night with top-notch defense. The team allowed just 21 shots on goal, making goalie Mike Liut's job easy. The Canadiens (12-11-3) have a plethora of injuries, including Brent Gilchrist, Sylvain Turgeon and Benoit Brunet, who are out, and Todd Ewen and Shayne Corson, who are questionable for tonight. The Caps (14-13) also are still hobbled with Peter Zezel, Dino Ciccarelli, Jim Hrivnak and Neil Sheehy out of the lineup, but have Mikhail Tatarinov and Don Beaupre back.
