Baltimore City

ASSAULT: Central District -- Woodrow Harrison, a parking attendant at the Arrow Parking garage in the 200 block of W. Fayette St., reported that at 7:20 p.m. yesterday a tall man wearing a brown sweater asked to use the garage restroom. When the man was finished, he threatened Harrison and demanded money. Harrison refused and the man left.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Central District -- Eddie Israel, 19, an employee at C Y Jean City in the 300 block of W. Saratoga St. reported that at 1:30 p.m. yesterday four men entered the store and demanded clothing and money. When Israel refused, one of the men pulled a handgun and fired an errant shot. All the suspects then left the store.

BURGLARY: Central District -- The management of the IBS International Business Service Co. in the 400 block of N. Eutaw St. reported that at some time during the weekend thieves used a fire escape to climb and gain access to the offices. Several pieces of office equipment were taken, valued at $4,180.

BURGLARY: Central District -- The management of the Kenilworth Equities in the 200 block E. Lexington St. reported that at some time during the weekend vandals broke into their offices by kicking in the front door. Nothing appeared to have been taken.

THEFT: Central District -- Two merchants at the Lexington Market in the 500 block of W. Lexington St. reported yesterday that thieves stole merchandise from their businesses while they were closed. The Golden Bakery reported that three boxes of chocolate candy valued at $87 were stolen. Three boxes of tangerines were stolen from Quality Poultry.

LARCENY: Southeastern District -- A business in the 1300 block of Ponca St. reported that some time Sunday night the window of a car was broken and several assorted pieces of plumber's tools were taken.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Employees of St. Elizabeth's Church in the first block of N. Belnord Ave. reported that thieves pried open a rear basement door to the church and entered sometime during the weekend. It was undetermined if anything was taken.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- The management of Triangle General Contractors Co. in the 200 block of S. Spring Court reported that at some time during the weekend thieves broke into a storage area by climbing an eight-foot chain link fence and cutting a lock on the gate of the area. Taken was an assortment of bathroom fixtures.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- The management of a bakery in the 800 block of E. Baltimore St. reported that at some time during the weekend thieves broke into their establishment and stole three cases of eggs valued at $80.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- The Sportsmart sporting goods store in the 300 block of N. Exeter St. that some time during the weekend thieves pried open a steel door at the front and building. It was undetermined if anything was taken.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Freddy Douglas, 38, of the 1500 block of Carswell St. was shot in the back and right leg while he stood in front of his home early yesterday. Carswell was taken to Union Memorial Hospital where he was in good condition, police said.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Northgate Road reported that thieves broke into her home through a patio door late Sunday night and stole a clock radio valued $45.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Between last Wednesday and early yesterday, someone stole several bedliners and a tool box with a total value of $275 from a city-owned truck parked on the impounding lot in the 6700 block of Pulaski Highway.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man armed with a sawed-off shotgun entered the garage of Best Transmissions in the 6100 block of Erdman Ave. shortly before 2 p.m. yesterday and announced a holdup. An employee gave the man $1,020 of the shop's receipts.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1200 block of E. Northern Parkway reported that thieves entered his home some time yesterday and stole property valued at more than $1,300.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2900 block of Erdman Ave. reported that sometime yesterday morning someone broke into her home through an unlocked living room window and stole jewelry and a VCR.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Ronnie Parker, of the 600 block of N. Fulton St., reported that at 11:05 p.m. Sunday he was shot by two unknown men while he standing near his home. He is in critical condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Mark Edwards, of the 1400 block of Myrtle Ave., reported that at shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday he was shot by two men as he was standing in the 600 block of N. Fulton Ave. He is in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center with bullet wounds in his right arm and both legs.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2000 block of Ruxton Ave. reported that thieves broke into her home sometime Sunday night and stole a TV set and a stereo worth a total of $1,000.
