William J. Leonard, 81, a retired ship maintenance foreman, died Sunday at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a stroke.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Ursula's Roman Catholic Church, 8801 Harford Road, Parkville.
A native of Baltimore, Mr. Leonard lived on Glenside Drive in Carney. He retired about 20 years ago as a ship maintenance lashing foreman, having worked many years as a longshoreman through Local 1429 of the International Longshoremen's Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Livia Marcantonio; a son, William J. Leonard Jr. of Carney; three daughters, Vivian Piunti of Towson, Andrea Bryant of Baltimore and Aileen Fields of White Marsh; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
