Mr. Schiminger, who was 60, died Saturday at his home in the Dulaney Towers Condominium of a degenerative neurological disease.

Born in Baltimore, he was educated at Calvert Hall College, St. Charles College and the Johns Hopkins University before earning a law degree at the University of Baltimore in 1970. Mr. Schiminger was president of the Baltimore and state Jaycees in the early 1960s. He also belonged to the National Association of Casualty and Surety Agents.

He had served in the Army National Guard, retiring at the rank of master sergeant.

In addition to serving on the board of the Towson Golf and Country Club, he coached baseball and basketball teams for the Loch Raven Youth Club and managed baseball teams sponsored by the C. Markland Kelly Post of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis E. Orr; a son, Paul J. Schiminger of Sykesville; and a grandson.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Disease Center at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
