Kwiatkowski Given Ssu Scholarship

November 27, 1990

Denise Kwiatkowski, 18, daughter of Bernard and Frances Kwiatkowski of Linthicum, has received a four-year renewable full-tuition Presidential Scholarship from Salisbury State University. The award is based on her academic performance in high school and her score of 1250 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test.

A 1990 graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School, Kwiatkowski is a freshman majoring in biology and premedicine at SSU.

While at Archbishop Spalding High, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Government and the Student Council. She played on the varsity soccer and lacrosse teams. Kwiatkowski worked part-time and summers as a lifeguard for the indoor pool at Guest Quarters in Linthicum.

She is an honors program student at SSU who enjoys playing intramural soccer.

"I knew about SSU because some of my friends were going here and liked it a lot," said Kwiatkowski. "It was rated pretty high in the college catalogs, and especially high in biology. Once I visited the campus, I really liked the atmosphere here. The smaller size helped me to feel at home right away."

Following graduation, Kwiatkowski plans to attend medical school.
