Tucked inside today's newspaper is a tabloid section not to be missed. Called "The State of Giving," it focuses on volunteerism -- what all of us can do to improve our communities by donating time and getting personally involved.
A study by the Partners for Giving suggests that mosMarylanders find it easier to donate money than to volunteer. This is not surprising. Yet giving one's time is as at least as important as money. A commitment of time buys strength in the community that cannot be purchased with money.
Take a look at "The State of Giving" and the organizations it lists. Think of other groups that need help. Every man and woman should participate in making the Baltimore region prosper.
