HARRIMAN TO TAKE PARTIN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Sandra N. Harriman, director of development and alumni relations at Howard Community College, has been chosen to participate in the Leadership Howard County 1990-1991 Program.

The Laurel resident had served as a political organizer and money-raiser prior to her HCC appointment this year.

The Leadership Program was launched in 1985 to prepare community leaders to meet the challenges of community service. The program addresses countywide issues in monthly, day-long seminars with leaders in business, government and community services.

KOPLOW, SONNENBERG JOIN COLUMBIA FIRM

The Columbia law firm of Levan, Schimel, Richman, Belman, Abramson & Scanlan has named Ellen L.S. Koplow and David R. Sonnenberg as members of the firm.

Koplow and Sonnenberg specialize in business law and civil litigation, respectively.

LENES PROMOTED AT SIGNET MORTGAGE

Sara G. Lenes has been promoted assistant vice president in Signet Mortgage Corporation, where she produces first mortgages in Howard, Prince Georges, Montgomery and Frederick Counties.

Lenes is a resident of Ellicott City and a member of the Howard County Association of Realtors.

COHEN APPOINTED SENIOR VP AT HCGH

Steven S. Cohen has been appointed senior vice president for operations at Howard County General Hospital.

Cohen, who has more than 20 years of hospital experience, comes to HCGH from Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, where he served most recently as vice president for support services.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland Pharmacy program and received his master's degree in hospital administration from Trinity University of San Antonio.

BUCKLEY RECEIVES 1990 MAXI AWARD

Elizabeth P. Buckley, marketing manager with the Rouse Company, was awarded the 1990 MAXI award for the September 1989 grand opening of Dorsey's Search Village Center in Columbia from the International Council of Shopping Centers.

The MAXI award is annually presented for outstanding achievements in the field of shopping center marketing. The award is open to all member shopping centers internationally.

Michelle J. Schiffer, assistant marketing manager, was also given professional recognition for her contributions to the opening.

SEDDON A SPECIALIST AT KAYLA ADVERTISING

Kathy Seddon has joined Kayla Advertising, a Columbia-based advertising firm, as a marketing and promotional specialist.

Seddon received her bachelor's degree in marketing from Loyola College of Maryland.

HYNES FAMILY WINS MERRY MAIDS AWARDS

Jack, Dot and Debbie Hynes, owners of the Merry Maids residential home cleaning service in Columbia, recently received three awards at the eleventh annual Merry Maids national convention in Omaha, Neb.

The Hynes won the Franchise Sales Leader of the Year, the East Region Customer Service Award, and the Silver Circle Award, the company's highest recognition for outstanding sales achievement and customer service among Merry Maids' 500 franchise operations.

HUZAREWICZ NAMED CHASELLE BRANCH VP

David Huzarewicz has been named vice president of administration for Chaselle Inc.'s Columbia location.

Chaselle is a distributor of a wide range of teaching aids and curriculum materials to day care centers, schools, and colleges.

Huzarewicz had previously worked for Maryland National Bank, where he was vice president of the commercial banking division.
