COLLEGE PARK -- The University of Maryland basketball team has signed a second player, Wayne Bristol of High Point High School in Beltsville, to a letter of intent.

Bristol, a 6-foot-2 guard, joins Geno Soto on the list of recruits to sign with the Terrapins. Johnnie Rhodes, a 6-5 forward from Washington who orally committed to Maryland, has yet to sign.

The early signing period ended yesterday.

According to The Montgomery Journal, the admissions department at Maryland has yet to approve a scholarship for Rhodes since his grade-point average at Dunbar High School in Washington is under the required 2.0.
