It's Your Call

November 20, 1990

The state's school systems got their "report cards" yesterday with most failing to meet the standards established under a new plan designed to help them meet tougher criteria by 1995. Officials see the reports as a benchmark from which to measure progress. The Evening Sun would like to know your opinion of

the schools in the jurisdiction in which you live. Are they excellent, satisfactory, or failing in their efforts to teach?

To register your opinion call SUNDIAL between 10 a.m. and midnight. The call is free and can be made only with a touch-tone phone. The SUNDIAL phone number is 783-1800 (or 266-7736 in Anne Arundel County). Once your reach SUNDIAL, enter 4600 and wait for instructions.

Results of the SUNDIAL poll will be available in Wednesday's Evening Sun.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
