Vo-tech Receives Award

WESTMINSTER - The Carroll County Vo-Tech Center's Diesel Mechanics program has received the 1990 Maryland's Career and Technology Education Distinguished Program Award.

Presented each year to a select group of outstanding vocational programs in the state, Carroll's students received their awards during the Maryland State Council on Vocational-Technical Education Conference Nov. 8 at BWI Airport in Anne Arundel County.

In other Vo-Tech news, Judy Babylon, a teacher in the school's Licensed Practical Nursing Program, received a $1,500 award during the conference.

Instructors from across the state were nominated by college presidents, school principals, advisory councils and boards of education. Winners were selected by a panel from the state Board of Community Colleges and the state Department of Education.
