Bel Air Student Receives Scholarship

Alicia Whren, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Whren of Bel Air, has been selected to receive the Principal's Leadership Award, which includes a $1,000 scholarship.

Jointly sponsored by Herff Jones, a school yearbook company, and the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Alicia is one of 150 seniors nationwide to be honored.

Nominees for the award must be in the top 20 percent of their high school class and be recommended by their principal.

Alicia, an active member of the Bel Air High School Student Government Association, also is a member of the Forensics Club, Students Against Drunk Driving, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.

She is a candy-striper at Fallston General Hospital as well as a volunteer at flea markets for Tri-Home Health Care Agency.
