VS. CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS

* WHEN: Tonight, 8:05.

VS. HARTFORD WHALERS

* WHEN: Tomorrow, 7:35.

* WHERE: Hartford Civic Center.

* RADIO: WCAO-AM 600.

* OUTLOOK: The Caps (10-10), who have dropped three straight after winning five in a row, have fallen into fifth place in the Patrick Division, four points ahead of the last-place N.Y. Islanders. The hobbled Caps continue to play without Dino Ciccarelli (thumb), Peter Zezel (ankle) and Don Beaupre (groin). The Blackhawks (13-6-2) are again one of the league's top teams, led by right wing Steve Larmer and center Jeremy Roenick. Newcomer Chris Chelios, acquired during the offseason for veteran Denis Savard, has played very well and shored up the Hawks' defense.
