Orlando Magic -- Claimed F Howard Wright on waivers from Atlanta. Released C Mark McNamara.

Seattle SuperSonics -- Activated C Dave Corzine. Placed G Dale Ellis on suspended list because of foot problem.

Washington Bullets -- Moved F John Williams from injured reserve to suspended list.


Florida State -- Announced DB Leon Fowler, LB Eric Gibbs, LB Phillip King and RB William Floyd have been dropped from roster for missing classes.

Gannon College -- Announced Steven J. Ropski's resignation as women's soccer coach.

Louisiana State -- Football coach Mike Archer announced he will resign at end of season.

UMBC -- Announced soccer coach John Ellinger's resignation due to promotion in Montgomery County school system. UMBC was 80-93-16, including a five-year Division I record of 44-45-8, during Ellinger's 10 seasons.


Cleveland Browns -- Placed DE Al Baker on injured reserve with neck and back injury.

Denver Broncos -- Placed CB Elliott Smith on non-football illness reserve list.


NHL -- Suspended Luc Robitaille of the Los Angeles Kings for four games for attempting to injure the Edmonton Oilers' Craig Simpson with his stick during a second-period brawl Nov. 10.

Detroit Red Wings -- Assigned C Keith Primeau to Adirondack (AHL).

Montreal Canadiens -- Recalled LW Mario Roberge from Fredericton (AHL).

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Recalled C Brad Aitken and D Gord Dineen from Muskegon (IHL).
