Anne Arundel Community College's eighth-ranked women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Michigan's No. 4 Schoolcraft in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association soccer tournament yesterday in New Jersey.
Schoolcraft's Sarah Hayes tallied on an assist from Bonnie Doyle in the 30th minute for the game's only goal.
The Pioneers (14-5-3) -- making their third consecutive national tournament appearance -- dropped into the consolation bracket for the second straight year. Last year, the Pioneers were beaten, 1-0, by Mercer and eventually finished sixth in the tournament.
