Ethel Truss Savage School psychologist

Services for Ethel Truss Savage, a former school psychologist in Montgomery and Anne Arundel counties, will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Church Circle in Annapolis.

Mrs. Savage, who was 75 and lived in Sherwood Forest and St. John, the Virgin Islands, died Monday of cancer at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.

She worked in Anne Arundel County schools from 1965 until her retirement in 1980. She worked in Montgomery County from 1951 until 1957, when she lived in Rockville.

The former Ethel Truss was born in New York City and reared in Puerto Rico, where her father was stationed as an officer of the Army Corps of Engineers.

She was a 1937 graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, did graduate work in psychology at the University of Chicago and received a master's degree from American University. She did more graduate work there and at Catholic University.

Her husband, Dr. Charles Savage, a psychiatrist, is retired from the Loch Raven Veterans Administration Hospital and as an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins medical school. He works for the Virgin Islands health department.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Charles W. Savage III of Novato, Calif.; a daughter, Emmy Borthwick of Falls Church, Va.; and three grandchildren.
