Trendy bubbles new for children

Parents, you have a new weapon in the battle of the bathtub. Super Mario Brothers, the cartoon and Nintendo game, just generated another commercial product: Super Mario Bros. Shampoo and Bubble Bath are now available for less than $3 in department stores. The new entry in the anti-grime arsenal comes in two shampoo formulas: Tear Free for 3- to 5-year-olds and Smoothes Tangles for 6- to 9-year-olds.

If Barbie were real, we'd probably hate her for being beautiful, exceedingly well-dressed and coiffed and, most of all, rich. After all, Barbie has her name on more products than Paul Newman.

Her latest marketing adventure likely won't burst soon: It's the Barbie Bubble Necklace, a combination toy and fashion accessory from Mattel Toys. It's a $5 plastic bottle filled with bubble solution that is hung on a satin ribbon. A miniature bubble wand is attached to the inside of the cap.
