Apply Now For Grants From Historical Trust

The Maryland Historical Trust, an agency of the Department of Housing and Community Development, will provide $500,000 in 1991 funding for historic preservation projects across the state. The state-funded program is available to eligible applicants for a broad spectrum of preservation-related capital and non-capital projects.

Interested project sponsors may request an application for funding. The deadline for postmark of applications is Jan. 1, 1991. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, local jurisdictions, individuals and business entities. Grants may be awarded to capital projects, such as the acquisition or development of historic real property; non-capital projects, such as the development of historic preservation planning documents, a survey of archaeological resources or architectural themes, a preservation workshop series, or educational publications.

The maximum grant to any one project per year is $40,000. Awards will be made in spring 1991, for projects beginning work after July 1, 1991.
