CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- Frostburg State (9-1) has been chosen to play Ramapo (9-1) for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III-South football title Saturday, and will be at home for the noon kickoff.
Each team was under consideration for a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament bid, but lost its final game Saturday. Waynesburg defeated Frostburg State, 28-18, and Trenton State stopped Ramapo, 9-0.
The two teams match up well in scoring and in highly rated defenses. Frostburg outscored foes, 36-7; Ramapo, 24-10; and the offense-defense marks are 406-190 for Frostburg and 348-199 for Ramapo. Individually, Rory McTigue tops Frostburg with 17 touchdowns and a per-game average of 85 yards. James Grant, Ramapo's option quarterback, has run for 718 yards and 11 touchdowns, and passed for 702 yards and five touchdowns.
