James R. Dudley American Can worker

November 12, 1990

A memorial service for James R. Dudley, a 40-year employee of the American Can Co., was held Saturday in Little River, S.C.

Mr. Dudley, who moved from Maryland in 1988 after his retirement, died of leukemia Friday at his home in Calabash on the far southeastern coast of North Carolina. He was 65.

A 1941 graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Mr. Dudley served in World War II as an infantryman and attended Western Maryland College after the war, graduating in 1948.

After receiving his diploma, Mr. Dudley began his long career in personnel and labor relations for American Can, living in Baltimore and several other locations where the company did business.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Doris Densmore; three children, James Dudley of Denver, Diana Arnold of Franklin, N.J., and Craig Dudley of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Little River Methodist Church, Box 160, Little River, S.C. 29566.
