Grover C. Orth Towson resident

Services for Grover C. Orth, a retired Baltimore County employee, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road.

Mr. Orth, a resident of Towson, died Wednesday at Keswick after a long illness. He was 80.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Towson High School and a 1932 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in forestry.

After college, Mr. Orth worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Louisiana for two years before returning to Maryland and beginning work for Baltimore County. He retired in 1975 as utilities assessment supervisor after 38 years of service.

Mr. Orth was a member of the Elks' Towson Lodge 469. He was an avid sports fan and loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Naerie Chandler Orth; a daughter, Ann O. Colder of Ellicott City; a brother, Robert R. Orth of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Keswick Home Memorial Fund, 700 W. 40th St., Baltimore, Md. 21211.
