S. Edward Ayers Retired foreman

Services for S. Edward Ayers, a concrete company foreman, will be at 2 p.m. today at Christ United Methodist Church in Federalsburg.

Mr. Ayers died of cancer Friday at his Federalsburg home. He was 68.

Born in Littleburg, W.Va., Mr. Ayers served as an Army infantry corporal in World War II.

A member of Christ United Methodist Church, Mr. Ayers worked for the former Ellis Concrete company in Federalsburg for 20 years, retiring as foreman in 1984.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Cleda G. Hunnell; two sons, Sanford E. Ayers III of Baltimore and David W. Ayers of Federalsburg; a sister, Evelyn Coon of West Virginia; a brother, Curtis Ayers of Federalsburg; and two grandchildren.

The family suggested donations to Christ United Methodist Church in care of James Hubbert, 315 Maple Ave., Federalsburg, Md. 21632.
