Events in area postponed due to heavy rains

Poor field conditions caused by rain throughout the Baltimore area Friday night and yesterday caused the postponement of several high school sporting events yesterday including some state semifinals and finals.

The state field hockey finals have been moved to tomorrow and Tuesday afternoon at Goucher College on two fields.

Pocomoke and Easton will meet 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Class 1A final and Severna Park and Bethesda Chevy Chase will meet at the same time in the Class 4A final.

Fallston will take on J.M. Bennett at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Class 2A final and Magruder and Calvert meet at the same time in the Class 3A final.

Six state soccer semifinals have been moved to tomorrow with all sites remaining the same.

In the Class 4A boys games at Broadneck, Broadneck will meet Wooton at 5 p.m., followed by Bowie vs. Whitman at 7:30.

In the girls Class 1A-2A semifinals at Howard, Middletown will take on Loch Raven at 5 p.m. and Patapsco will meet Towson at 7.

In the girls Class 3A-4A semifinals at Chesapeake of Anne Arundel County, Old Mill and Loch Raven meet at 5 p.m., followed by Severna Park vs. C. Milton Wright at 7.

There has been a site change for the Association of Independent Schools field hockey finals. The A Division game featuring Bryn Mawr vs. Roland Park will be at St. Paul's at 3:30 p.m. Oldfields and Park will meet for the B Division title as originally scheduled, at St. Timothy's at 3:30 p.m.

The Poly at Mount St. Joseph football game will be played tomorrow at 2:30.
