Carey N. Thomas Company clerk

Carey N. Thomas, a retired shipping company clerk, died Nov. 2 at North Arundel Hospital after a heart attack.

Mr. Thomas, who was 66 and lived on Nolpark Court in Glen Burnie, retired nearly five years ago after working for several shipping companies.

Born in Essex, he was reared there and in the Panama Canal Zone.

He was a member of the Composite Lodge of the Masons and the Baltimore Forest of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

He also had been a volunteer adult leader of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, a Masonic group.

His first wife, the former Shirley Evans, died in 1981.

He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Crow Stephens Dobbins; two daughters, Phyllis Thomas and Barbara Brukiewa, both of Glen Burnie; a stepson, Howard Stephens of Glen Burnie; a brother, William Thomas of Baltimore; a sister, Leona Lindberg of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.

A private service was planned.
