Louise T. Savage, who was born on the Eastern Shore and lived for many years in the Baltimore area, died last Sunday of kidney failure at a hospital in Decatur, Ga.
Services for Mrs. Savage, who was 81 and had lived in Stone Mountain, Ga., for about three years, were held Friday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Stone Mountain.
The former Louise Scarborough Townsend was born in Girdletree, Worcester County, and graduated from the University Maryland, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
She volunteered at the Hospital for the Women of Maryland and its successor, the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Her husband, Dr. John E. Savage, was chief of staff at both hospitals before his retirement about 15 years ago.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Savage is survived by a son, John E. Savage Jr. of Stone Mountain; a daughter, Caroline S. Wanstall of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, William H. Townsend of Cambridge; and four grandchildren.
