Havre De Grace Girl Crowned Miss Teen Harford County

Lanelle Nolan, 17, of Havre de Grace was crowned the 1991 Miss Teen Harford County before an audience of 700 at the 23rd Annual Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by the Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation, on Nov.

3.

She will receive $1,800 in scholarship money in addition to a variety of gift certificates from sponsoring businesses and patrons.

Lanelle, who also was the recipient of the Miss Teen Talent award, will make her first official appearance as Miss Teen Harford County later this month when Santa Claus arrives at Harford Mall. She also will participate in the Aberdeen Christmas Street parade Dec. 1 and the Havre de Grace Christmas Street parade on Dec. 2.

First runner-up in the annual pageant was Angie Old, 15, of Havre de Grace, and second runner-up was 16-year-old Karen Romanelli of Havre de Grace.

The contestants were judged on sportsmanship, scholastic ability, extra curricular activities, and on an interview before the Saturday night competition. During the competition they were judged on their casual wear, appearance, talent, poise, evening gown, and mental alertness.
