An Edgewood man is being held on $250,000 bail in the county detention center in connection with a drug transaction that ended in an exchange of gunshots Friday, Nov. 2, the Sheriff's Department said.

Roosevelt Chisolm Jr. is charged with possession of illegal drugs and possession of a concealed weapon, the department said. Police did not have Chisolm's age.

Chisolm was in the Meadowood area of Edgewood when an unknown male carrying a handgun approached him, a department spokesman said. Several gunshots were exchanged, but no one was injured.

Chisolm fled the scene in a car, police said, but was later apprehended.

A semiautomatic handgun and $5,000 in suspected cocaine were found in the vehicle he was driving, police said.

No other arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing.
