Ruth C. Simone

Ruth C. Simone, who began teaching music at the age of 14, died Wednesday of cancer at her home on Berwick Avenue in northeast Baltimore. She was 43.

Services for Miss Simone were being held today at the Calvary Tabernacle Church, 6008 Old Harford Road.

For the past 10 years, she had taught piano, guitar and other instruments at home.

Born in Baltimore, Miss Simone was a graduate of Forest Park High School. She studied music in the Preparatory Department FTC of the Peabody Institute and at Hammond's Music Studio.

She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Boesche of Baltimore; a sister, Lee Ann Pettey of Perry Hall; and two brothers, Jack Simone of Glen Burnie and David Jonathon Simone of Baltimore.
