Trent C. Chapman

Trent C. Chapman, an engineering student at Morgan State University, died of respiratory failure Friday at his home on Northwick Court in northeast Baltimore. He was 25.

Services for Mr. Chapman were being held today at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 1234 Druid Hill Ave.

Born in Baltimore, he attended public schools here and graduated in 1983 from City College, where he was a two-year member of the wrestling team and manager of the baseball team.

After two years at Morgan, he interrupted his academic education to work. His employment included jobs with USF&G, Baker Watts Investors and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.

He went back to the engineering program at Morgan last semester.

One of his enthusiasms was music, an interest he picked up from his father, John Fowler, president of the Left Bank Jazz Society. He also enjoyed swimming, skating and playing chess.

He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

He is survived by his father and his mother, Clora Fowler.

Burial will be in Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road.
