Two West Baltimore men were shot on the street last night near Druid Hill Park, drawing a crowd that wrangled with police officers who responded to the shootings.
The two men, William Jordan Jr., 23, of the 3800 block of Park Heights Avenue, and Reginald Smith, 17, of Auchentoroly Terrace, were walking in the 1700 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway about 8:15 p.m. when they were approached by a man with a gun, police said.
The man shot Mr. Jordan three times and Mr. Smith once before fleeing on foot, they reported.
When police arrived, a crowd had gathered and initially refused to disperse. A 15-year-old was charged with assaulting a police officer who had told him to leave.
Mr. Jordan was in serious condition last night at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Mr. Smith was in good condition at University Hospital.
Police, who were seeking a man dressed in black in connection with the shootings, said they did not know a motive.
