OFFICER RETIRES after accusation

A county police officer accused of exposing himself to two women at a truck stop in September has retired, officials said.

Patrol Officer Gregory Smith, 44, retired Oct. 30 after the women filed a complaint with the department's Internal Affairs unit.

Police sources said the women reported that the incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. at the Transit Truck Stop on Route 3 in Millersville.

Smith, a 20-year veteran of the department, worked out of the Western District Station.

Police officials refused to discuss the matter.
