The overwhelming majority of Evening Sun readers and othe callers to Sundial yesterday said that they were registered to vote and planned on casting ballots in today's elections.
Some 459 callers out of 496 (93 percent) said they were registered. Only 37 (7 percent) said they were not. The majority of callers (275) said they were registered Democrats, while 175 said they were Republicans and 41 were registered independent.
Asked if they were voting today, 89 percent (437) said they were, while only 11 percent (55) said they were not. Most respondents do not plan on voting a straight ticket, with 106 (22 percent) saying they would and 375 (78 percent) saying they would not.
"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
