George A. Klein Purchasing director

A Mass of Christian burial for George A. Klein, retired purchasing director for a chemical company and a longtime resident of Lutherville, will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity, 1809 Vista Lane in Timonium.

Mr. Klein, who was 68, died Sunday of cancer at his home on Greenridge Road.

He retired nearly five years ago from the Allied Corp. after more than 30 years of service.

A native of Overlea and a 1939 graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School, he remained active in its alumni association.

While serving in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, he received a Bronze Star and twice was awarded the Purple Heart.

A member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Knights of Columbus, he was a former member of the board of the Lutherville Timonium Recreation Council.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Margaret Schmidt; two daughters, Dorothy J. Dustmann of Parkville and Margaret Mary Nelson of Hunt Valley; two sons, George A. Klein III of Stoneleigh and Steven P. Klein of Lutherville; and seven grandchildren.
