CURRENT volunteers' needs and news:

Thanksgiving Parade is in need of volunteers to act as parade marshals beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 17. Call Shelia Goodwin, 752-8632.

United Way of Central Maryland has published a list of volunteer opportunities, by counties and by the holiday projects and needs of non-profit organizations. For details, call 659-0050.

Sexual Assault Recovery Center wants volunteers ages 18 and over with good writing skills, detail oriented and organized to assist with the production of its newsletter ''The Triumph,'' and with public relations work. Call Deborah D. Brother, 685-0937. The address is 1010 St Paul St., Suite 2D

College of Notre Dame wants alumnae as volunteers to plan and implement activities and events for the Alumnae Association's Baltimore chapter. Call, Jean Monier, 532-5542.

BARC (Baltimore Association for Retarded Citizens), wants volunteer gift wrappers for its holiday gift wrap booth at Kenilworth in Towson from Nov. 23 to Dec. 24. Call Gina Como, 323-5600.
